The
Tareq Rajab Museum
of Islamic Calligraphy was inaugurated
by
the
British Ambassador
Mr Stuart Laing

The
evening started with a beautiful performance of Music by
internationally renowned British concert pianist Thalia Myers and
Emma Williams who is one of London’s leading young flautists. The
concert was followed by the opening of the Museum and a light
supper.
The
impressive and newly constructed Dar Jehan building contains
probably the largest collection of Islamic calligraphy works of art
which ranges from 7th Century to the present day.

A large
number of Kuwaiti officials, dignitaries and friends were present to
witness the opening of the
collection of calligraphy.

The
Museum is now open to the general public, opening hours from 9am to
12-00 and from 4pm to 7pm,

mornings only. A publication will also be available in the near
future to compliment the collection.
